I have a new happy store. Or two. These beat Barnes and Noble and Borders any day. The first is called Half-Price Books. Now with a name like that you know you can't go wrong. I've been to each of the three in our area. They have a clearance section where every book is $1. I've gotten something from every store. Books by Studs Terkel (an oral historian), J.K. Rowling and L'Engle and others. The rest of the store is great too; it's just fun to see what you can find in the back.
The other store is called Loomes. Its a used/antiquarian bookstore in Stillwater, a town about 45min from me. I could have spent the day there and I only saw about a third of it. There is an upstairs that I did not see and an entire bulding that I did not see. The other bulding is an old cathedral that boasts of being "North America's Largest Theological Used-Book Store". There I got "The Collected Poems of T.S. Eliot; 1909-1967" (the years might be off) for $8.
I need to stop; what am I going to do with these books? Bring them to South Korea or leave them? I don't know if I'll have the room to take them but I certianly don't want to leave them. What to do what to do...

T.S. Eliot is theological?? Okay. You know how they say we turn into our parents? Take a quick glance at your father's library and ask yourself if you like where this is going...
Eliot's theology is far richer that that of most chapel speakers, and he is no more prone to error than they are. Did anyone hear Ron Pyle's interp of "The Journey of the Magi?"
I'm jealous of your bookstore. If only someone would open on near my place!
Sorry, I've realized that the description of Loomes was not clear. There are actually two stores under the one name and one of the stores is the Theology section, but as a seperate store. The other is "regular" or whatever you wanna call it.
I bought my first NASB today... Thompson Chain-Reference! It was a "defective-sold as-is" copy (a couple of the intro pages were bent) in an outlet store. I'm so happy...
I'm thinking I need to take a road trip up to your neck of the woods...
The G'ville Literacy Association is having its annual used book sale (advertised as both "Really Big" and "Really Cheap" which both sound good to me), but unfortunately, it's the weekend that I'm moving to NC. :(
Becca--good choice of translations. :) Have you tried the ESV yet? It's my current favorite, but NASB isn't far behind!
