Jamie and Tangrams

You remember tangrams right? Those sets that came with 7 geometric pieces that you were supposed to put together into pictures? I've never been good at it but since we are on a basic geometry unit in Math I decided to get a few sets for the classrom. I then printed up three pages of "pictures" for them to try and make. For every one they make they get a bonus point in Math. Jamie has been working with one set for a while and he is rather amusing when he calls me over to check it; the picture and what he has made rarely match and when I tell him that it does not he makes like the kid from "Home Alone" (hands on either side of his face and "Ahhhhhh!!!"). The last try before lunch his reaction was different. He was beside the phone and picked it up....

"Hello, polij-uh?" (police) "Miss-uh Straub-uh say it wrong again. Plej-uh arrest her." All of it said with a perfectly deadpan expression. Jamie is by no means the class clown but he has the best sense of humour; it's very dry and he maintains the straightest face as he does it. Not a day goes by with out me laughing at something he says. I know as a teacher you are nor supposed to have favourites but he is mine; his grades are great and he is respectful and so very funny.

I feel deprived. I never had (or did?) tangrams!
