I love my students. All of them. Even the ones who don't always act the way they know they ought. Today several things happened that made me smile and I thought I'd share them.
During second hour we got talking about drinking. I don't even remember how, but we did. In Korea drinking is a social expectation, especally if you are with your boss. Rocky said his father is a "good strong Christian and never drinks. I want to be like my father." When I asked him "So will you ever drink?" He said he did not want to and repeated that he wanted to be like his father. I had never heard Rocky talk about his father until today, so to hear that gave me the warm fuzzies.
During 7th hour Philip was trying to convince me to give him a particular point. I was not budging. Finally he said "In America if you argue with the teacher they will give you the point!" (Not sure where he got that idea.) As soon as the words were out of his mouth, Frank said "But she is not American! She is Canadian!" I don't do it intentionally, but I must make the kids think I still live in Canada. All I've told them is that I was born in Canada.
And as usual, there was something else but I don't remember.
As to the health, I appriceate your prayers! My blood pressure was down, as was my heart rate. Sugars were ok but my cholsterol is slightly high. I'm supposed to lay off coffee (sad!!) for a week because he wants to see if that was a contributor. He is thinking of putting me on hypertension meds but I'm not going to do that if there is a chance I don't need it. I'll know more Monday.

Of course, you health is most important, but you are right not to jump at taking meds for hypertension. It will scar your record for insurance, making your rates go up.
I hope that you have a sensible doctor, and will pray that you get good advice.
